The JPI Europe project “Smart Pedestrian Nets” (2017-2020) aimed to provide pedestrians with assistance regarding local urban conditions at any specific moment of walking time while considering a wide range of criteria including planning to improve walkability, street connectivity, pedestrian navigation system for defining routes, provide feedback to the municipality.

The IoT platform Smart City Monitor was selected by the Association for Sustainable Innovative Development in Economics, Environment and Society (ASIDEES) to address the project challenges. The  new solution developed by ASIDEES integrated advanced mobile app Smart Pedestrian Assistant with Smart City Monitor.

The results appeared fantastic as it generated radicaly new synergy between AI-driven Smart City Monitor capacity to collect real time information about the city from the large number of sources, intelligently process it with latest AI and big data methods and provide important natural conversational assistance to all pedestrians who walk in the city. It includes all possible events that may happen in the streets, the activities of various local businesses, optional transportation and emergency support.

The project results demonstrated huge potential for the new digital technology applications to improve quality of urban life, relevant services and potential attractiveness for the city visitors.

The project results were presented in the cities of Porto and Bologna and will be further exploited by ASIDEES and our company.
